• Creating a Sober World is a new creation in Christ.

  • It is the First-Century Apostolic Church of the Twenty-first Century

  • It is a Context for Communication in which Sobriety as a Global reality is an idea whose time has come.

  • It is the fulfillment of the vision of those who went before us for a world-changing way of gathering in which the Cross of Christ shall transform the world.

  • It is organized in the manner of a "twelve-step fellowship" for all those who desire to be free from our human addictions to power, pleasure and meaning and are willing to be addicted to nothing.

About Us:

Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.  KJV

A Context For Communication

The Origins of Our Context

The Pure Being of Pure Non-Being

Creating a Sober World Is a Context for Communication in which Sobriety, as a Global Reality is an Idea Whose Time has come.

Here we introduce some key ideas:

  • Context for communication

  • Origin of the context

  • An Idea whose time has come.

CASW occupies a unique space that exists outside of the conventional conversational spaces that dominate the western world paradigm. This space is not rational in the ordinary way that we think of rationality, nor is it religious or even spiritual in the way that we normally think of spirituality. It got it start in the first century of the Christian era, but did not resurface until the later half of the nineteenth century.

CASW is a fulfillment of the vision of two men. Frank Buchman, the founder of the Oxford Group and Bill Wilson the Founder of Alcoholics Anonymous

When Bill Wilson was admitted to the hospital for the last time, he encountered his bottom and confessed to God that he was nothing.

We in Creating a Sober World have come to see that we must embrace our own nothingness even as Bill did. It turns out that the wisdom that Bill had received from the Oxford Group is life changing and world changing.

As Saint Paul says in Galatians 3:6: If anyone thinks they are something when they are nothing, they deceive themselves. and in 1 Cor. 1:27: God has taken the things which are not to bring to nothing the things which are.

That is us...we are nothing and we are bringing to nothing the things that are.

The Fulfillment of Vision

Our Board of Directors

We have a group of folks who have been willing to serve the larger fellowship of Creating a Sober World by ensuring that CASW remains a safe and solid space for world-changers to gather.
